The End is Coming for Windows XP

In less than a year, Microsoft will cease supporting Windows XP. This means they will stop producing security updates for the nearly 12-year old operating system. Microsoft already fixed more than 25 serious XP security flaws in the first half of 2013, and starting next year on April 8, 2014, vulnerabilities will no longer get fixed. Microsoft will cease supporting Windows XP in April 2014 This puts every company using Windows XP at risk of infections and intrusions. Microsoft is warning customers that after it stops supporting the operating system, virus-writers will most likely increase their attacks on XP.

During the past 12 months, we've seen many customers upgrade from XP to Windows 7 and Windows 8. However, more than 10% of customers' Windows-based computers are still running Windows XP. Upgrading your old office computers can be a substantial investment in time and money but, in the case of Windows XP, moving forward with those upgrades will prevent your company from being vulnerable to much more costly problems.

Plan ahead and get started on upgrading your old XP computers today so you don't get caught with security vulnerabilities in nine months.
