Supporting our Customers

Table of Contents

We’re committed to supporting multiple web browsers for use with ClickTime. For more than 10 years, we’ve maintained that commitment by rapidly testing and updating our application to support new browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome and mobile Safari on iPhone). We also rapidly verify and update ClickTime as needed to maintain compatibility with the newest browser versions, including the monthly updates to Firefox and Chrome, so our customers are confident they can upgrade their browser and keep working as expected. Internet Explorer 7 Logo

It’s been nearly six years since Microsoft released Internet Explorer version 7 (IE7). Due to its improved security and performance compared with IE6 (OK, stop laughing), it became nearly ubiquitous with installations of Windows XP and Vista. ClickTime supported using IE7 when it was released and continues to support it today.

In the past 18 months, we have seen a steady decline in our customers’ use of IE7. Today, slightly less than 5% of customer sessions are on IE7.

IE7usage

We will continue supporting IE7 in ClickTime for the foreseeable future because we understand that not every company is ready to upgrade or replace their old workstations. Microsoft says they’re going to keep supporting IE7 until 2014 and we’ll also make sure our customers can continue to sign in and enter time using IE7. As we build and release new features and functionality in ClickTime, however, we will focus on supporting only the most widely used browsers including IE8, IE9 and the soon-to-be released IE version 10.

Rest assured that you can keep using IE7 to enter and submit your timesheets with ClickTime. But if you want the latest and greatest features, we recommend using a modern browser like IE9, Firefox 13 or Chrome 20.
