Lead Developer

This position is based in Downtown San Francisco, CA.

    We design, create, and deploy our own web applications, which run 24/7/365 serving customers in 30+ countries. Our flagship product, the ClickTime Web Timesheet, is one of the oldest hosted web-based applications. Headquartered in Downtown San Francisco, ClickTime is a privately-held profitable enterprise that's been in business since 1999.

About this position:

The right candidate will be able to weigh business decisions against technical ones and can passionately and clearly argue his/her agenda to senior management. We're looking for someone who can mentor junior staff, bring in contractors when necessary, and set an example for coding style, documentation, and development methodology.

This person will have a significant voice in the technical direction of our firm.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent (Computer Science or related field preferred)
  • 5+ years of web application development, including some understanding of client-side technologies (AJAX, YUI, ExtJS, Prototype)
  • 2+ years of .NET-specific development, including .NET 2.0, C#, ASP.net, and Web Services. Bonus points for NHibernate & Continuous Integration
  • 2+ years of MS SQL Server experience; very strong SQL skills
  • Good understanding of IIS and ASP.net deployment
  • Some experience with legacy ASP is a plus
  • Some experience with Subversion
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Create technical specifications for new product features
  • Produce clean, elegant code
  • Set standards for implementation, coding, and deployment activities
  • Recruit, manage, and mentor 1-3 junior developers
  • Participate in product brainstorming, planning, and market research
  • Manage version control and documentation procedures
  • Be on-call for system emergencies (we are a 24/7 operation)
  • Research and recommend 3rd party tools and components
